Emogene Gross

Emogene Royal Gross, age 57 of Richlands, Virginia, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at a Kingsport Tennessee hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Buchanan County, Virginia and was the daughter of the late James A. and Laura H. Stiltner Royal, both former Buchanan County natives. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a full time homemaker. She attended Ball?s Chapel at Belfast and Mount Pleasant Chapel on Horton Ridge. One of her favorite things to do was treasure hunting at yard sales and flea markets. She was a life time resident of the area. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter Sandy Hurt, step-daughter Janice Hurt and one brother Timothy Royal. Those who survive her are: Her Husband: Roger Gross of Richlands, Virginia Daughters: Andria Hurt of Richlands, Virginia Donna Stiltner of Bristol, Tennessee Son: Tony Lee Hurt of Richlands, Virginia Step-daughter: Judy Meade of Mouthcard, Kentucky Step-son: Jerry A. Hurt of Mouthcard, Kentucky Sisters: Bobbie Justus of Hurley, Virginia Sherry L. Miller of Middlesboro, Kentucky Wanda Day of Texas Brothers: Eddie Royal of Paintlick, Virginia Donald R. Royal of Richlands, Virginia Roger Royal of Richlands, Virginia Charles Day of Hickory, North Carolina Kenneth Royal of Big Rock, Virginia 11 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren along with special friends Darrell Whitt and Eva Mae Sparks and a host of family and friends also survive her. Funeral services for Emogene Gross will be held Saturday, August 25, 2007 at 2:00 pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Michael Justice and James Ball officiating. Interment will follow at Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Family and friends and Honorary Pallbearers will be her nephews.
