John Baldwin

John Arch Baldwin, age 67, of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, passed away Tuesday, August 28, 2012 in a Kingsport, Tennessee hospital. He was born in Richlands, Virginia and was the son of the late George and Annie Sparks Baldwin. He was a lifelong resident of the Richlands area and was retired from Kern’s Bread Store. He was currently the chaplain for the Clinch Valley Medical Center and was the assistant pastor at Green’s Chapel at Paintlick and was the pastor of the Seaboard Church of God and led the radio ministry Emmanuel Lives. He touched the lives of many and will be missed by all of his extended church families in the area. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Ruth Baldwin; one sister, Goldie Taylor; and one brother, Howard Baldwin. Survivors are: His Wife: Janet Lee Baldwin Three Daughters: Dorothy Juanita Ward of Richlands, Virginia Tracy Marie Mackey and husband, Sean of Pounding Mill, Virginia Michelle Meade and husband, Bryan of Hansonville, Virginia Two Sons: John Baldwin, Jr. of Blacksburg, Virginia Richard Baldwin of Baptist Valley, Virginia Two Sisters: Hazel Whited and husband, Bill of Swords Creek, Virginia Brenda Brewster and husband, Daniel of Baptist Valley, Virginia Juanita Sparks of Richlands, Virginia Two Brothers: Paul Baldwin and wife, June of Richlands, Virginia Daniel Baldwin and wife, Jean of Richlands, Virginia Eight Grandchildren: Kira Cordle, Alyx Mackey, Zachary Mackey, Cody Brown, Jacob Baldwin, Seth Baldwin, Tiffany Jessee, Chris Jessee Four Great Grandchildren: Devin Phillips, Nicholas Cordle, Tyler Risner, and Cayden Brown Funeral services for John Baldwin will be conducted Sunday, September 2, 2012 at 2:00pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Darrell Ray, Rev. Dannie Short, and Rev. Robert Whitt officiating. Interment will follow at the Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands, Virginia. Pallbearers will be: Sean Mackey, John Baldwin, Jr., Richard Baldwin, Cody Brown, Jacob Baldwin, Seth Baldwin, Tommy Meadows, and Wiley Bostic.
