John Frazier Hall

John Frazier Hall, age 78, of Doran, Virginia, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014 at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, Virginia following a lengthy illness. He was born in Russell County, Virginia and was the son of the late John Calvin and Mary Magdalene Byrd Hall. John was a retired employee of S & S Corporation at Claypool Hill, Virginia. He was also a member of the Bible Way Church of Raven, Virginia where he had served as a deacon for 33 years and taught Sunday school for many years. He spent all of his life living in the Swords Creek and Raven areas of Southwest Virginia. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Bruce Hall. Those left to cherish his memory include: His wife: Wilma Jean Horton Hall One Daughter: Vickie Hughes and husband, Glenn of Richlands, Virginia One Son: Michael Hall, of the home. One Daughter-In-Law: Denise Hall, of Jewell Ridge, Virginia Two Brothers: James Hall and wife, Carolyn of Swords Creek, Virginia Earl Hall of Swords Creek, Virginia Four Grandchildren: Kelly Smith, Glen Hughes, Amanda Kitts, and Connor Hall Three Great Grandchildren Nevaeh Hughes, Abigail Kitts, Bentley Kitts Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for John Frazier Hall will be conducted Monday, June 30, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with Rev. Dannie Short and Rev. Dennis White officiating. Entombment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be: Glen Hughes, Junior Burke, Smiley Wicks, Ronnie Hall, Gary Owens, and Chris Kitts. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Larry Mitchell, B.J. Smith, and the Deacons of the Bible Way Church. The family will receive friends after 6:00 pm Sunday evening, June 29th, 2014 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia. The family would like to extend special gratitude toward the Fourth Floor Staff of Clinch Valley Medical Center and the employees of Preferred Home Health for the special care given to Mr. Hall during the time of his illness.
