Johnny Michael Foster

Johnny Michael Foster, age 58 of Hurdle Mills, NC died Sunday, January 6, 2013 at a Hurdle Mills, NC hospital. He was born March 13, 1954 at War, WV and was the son of Pat Foster of War, WV and the late Darrie Foster. Mr. Foster had worked for several years as a maintenance worker for Duke University in Durham, NC. Mr. Foster was an active member of the Five Forks Baptist Church and was an active participant in a jail ministry. He was a simple man whose life revolved around his family, his faith, and his Church. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one son, Frankie Jordan Foster; one nephew, Mark Foster; one niece, Tabitha Foster. Those left to cherish his memories include his loving wife, Crystal Lynn Foster; one daughter, Rebecca Lynn Foster of War, WV; three sons, Don Michael Foster and wife, Sarah of Bristol, CT, John Edward Foster of Hurdle Mills, NC, and Eric James Foster of Butner, NC; four sisters, Penny Robinette and husband, Joe of Princeton, WV, Brenda Wilson and husband, Paul of Ohio, Joyce Adams and husband, Claude, and Kathie Whitt and husband, Paul both of War, WV; six brothers, Jim Foster and wife, Barb of Florida, Randy Foster and wife, Carla and Riley Foster and wife, Jennifer, Darrell Foster and wife, Sharon all of North Carolina, Ronnie Foster and wife, Karen of Bluewell, WV, and Rush Foster and wife, Joyce of Cucumber, WV; three grandchildren, Noah Michael Foster, Lilah Joelle Foster and Tyler Foster; several nieces and nephews; his church family, and many other family members and friends also survive. Funeral services for Johnny Michael Foster will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Canebrake Freewill Baptist Church in Canebrake, WV with the Rev. Darrell Long officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Pallbearers will be Don Foster, John Foster, Riley Foster, Adam Foster, Ron Foster, Darrell Foster and Ray Foster. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at the Canebrake Freewill Baptist Church in Canebrake, WV Friday, January 11, 2013.
