Laura Olivane Helton

Laura Olivane Helton, age 77, of the Maxwell section of Tazewell, VA passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014 at her home. She was born in Washington County, VA and was the daughter of the late Dewey Thomas and Mary Eunice Woods Tuggle. Laura was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of the area. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one son, James Howard Helton; three sisters, Rosie Slate, Renee Hawkins and Lena Mae Tuggle; and four brothers, Bill Tuggle, Mack Tuggle, Ray Tuggle and Jim Tuggle. She is survived by: Her Husband, Howard Thomas Helton Two Daughters: Patricia Harrison and husband, Ronald of Maxwell, VA Becky Harrison and husband, Terry “Boo Boo” of Maxwell, VA Three Sons: Tommy Helton and wife, Sandra of Cedar Bluff, VA Junior “June Bug” Helton of Maxwell, VA Danny Helton of Maxwell, VA Four Grandchildren: Chris Harrison, Jessica Harrison, Kaye Propst and husband, Gabe, Audriana Harrison Three Great Grandchildren: Timmy Cook, Chandler Harrison, Zoey Propst Three Sisters: Katherine Helton and husband, Robert of Cedar Bluff, VA Mary Johnson of Lebanon, VA Eula Harr and husband, Glenn of Cedar Bluff, VA Two Brothers: Tommy Tuggle of Chilhowie, VA Charles “Duty” Tuggle of Kingsport, TN Special children she thought of as her own grandkids, Kendra and Rachel Taylor Special Friends, Donald and Barbie Matney also survive along with a host of family and friends. Funeral services for Laura Olivane Helton will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, VA with Rev. Roger Lester officiating. Interment will follow at the Helton Family Cemetery, Wardell, Virginia. Pallbearers will be: Chris Harrison, Terry Harrison, Donald Matney, Gene Helton, Corey Jackson and Ronald Harrison. Honorary pallbearers will be: Past and Present Employees of Mercy Ambulance Service.
