Linda Jean Smith

Linda Jean Smith, age 66, of Raven, Virginia, was surrounded by her loving family as she drew her last breath on earth and her first breath in heaven on Monday, August 29, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Richlands, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Andy and Edna Reynolds Brewer. Linda was a graduate of Honaker High School Class of 1968 and co-owner and operator of English Ivy Garden and Gifts in Richlands, Virginia. Linda alongside her best friend and business partner for over 18 years, Judy Honaker loved to work together creating beautiful and unique arrangements that many families have come to admire and love. She was a vital part of so many people’s lives, not only in her work but also through her friends, church, and community. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Linda was a member of the Raven Assembly Church of God in Raven, Virginia and was a lifelong resident of the area. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a half-brother, Carl Jackson and loving grandparents that helped to raise her, Will and Eva Reynolds. Those who remain to carry on her spirit are: Her loving and devoted husband, David Smith of Raven, VA Daughters: Kimberly Smith and husband, Keith of Jewell Ridge, VA Angie Smith and companion, Adam Glascock of Abingdon, VA Tanya Maggard and husband, Jason of Pounding Mill, VA Very Special Aunt, Mary Reynolds Brothers: Alfred Brewer of Blackford, VA Larry Brewer of Red Ash, VA The joy of her life, her five grandchildren, Ryan Goss, Jakob Payne, Preston Maggard, Kellen Maggard and Tucker Maggard. Special thanks and gratitude go out to the Bristol Regional Medical Center staff of ICU 3, Dr. Shao of the Wellmont Cancer Center and the nurses of Helping Hands. The funeral service for Linda Jean Smith will be conducted Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 2:00pm at the Raven Assembly of God in Raven, Virginia with the Rev. Doug Johnson, Pastor Phyllis Simmons and Rev. Chris Hunt. Entombment will follow at the Clinch Valley Memorial Mausoleum in Richlands, Virginia. Pallbearers will be, Ryan Goss, Jakob Payne, Keith Smith, Adam Glascock, Jason Maggard, Allen Honaker and Lawrence Vandyke. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Men of the Raven Assembly of God.
