Lindsey Ross French

Lindsey Ross French, age 67 of North Tazewell, VA, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 31, 2018 surrounded by his loving family in the peaceful valley at Maiden Spring. He was born March 12, 1951 in Richlands, VA and was the son of the late Zed Sherrill French, Jr. and Sarah Catherine Beavers French. Lindsey graduated from Tazewell High School in 1969 and attended SVCC. He enjoyed all sports, playing in adult basketball, volleyball and softball leagues. He was a true hunter, fisherman and golfer who was always competitive with his siblings, nephews and friends. Lindsey, his parents and seven siblings were a talented musical family. He was a Green T singer, played brass instruments and was an accomplished pianist. Lindsey was an avid animal lover. His greatest joys in life were his Arabian/Quarter horses and ponies; "Joker" being his favorite and best friend. Lindsey was named after his Grandfather, Ross Beavers, whom he took care of throughout his Grandfather's illness. He was Greens Keeper at Tazewell Country Club. He worked for and retired from the International Monetary Fund in Washington, DC. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Richard Byron French and one nephew, Adam Litz French. He is survived by his loving brothers and sisters, Zed S. VII, of Maiden Spring, VA and David French of Princeton, WV; Nieces and nephews, Zed "Zee" S. French, IV and wife, Andrea of The Woodlands, TX, Jessica Armistead and husband, Justin of Charlottesville, VA, Richard "Richie" French, Jr. and wife, Mandy of Tazewell, VA, Amy Bower and husband, Erik of Scott Depot, WV, Will French of Scott Depot, WV, Marcus French of Abingdon, VA, Matthew Bragg and wife, Stephanie of Narrows, VA, Catherine "Katie" Painter and husband, Jared of Princeton, WV, Jeseca Sowder and husband, Zack of Pembroke, VA, Kim Bragg and Chapman Burnett of Lexington, KY, Rees T. Bowen VIII and fiancé, Michelle Skertic of Blacksburg, VA, Ryan French and Michelle Guidry of King, NC; Great nieces and nephews, Landry and Presley French, Finley and Rory Armistead, Charlize "Charlee" and Gabrielle "Gabi" French, Faith, Luke, and Trevor Bower, Hunter and Noah French, Erin Bragg, Alayna "Ally" and Jackson Painter; a special thank you to Home Nursing Company, Inc., Home Health and Hospice Care in Lebanon, VA. Funeral services for Mr. Lindsey Ross French will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA with Father Russ Hatfield and the Rev. Emily Edmondson officiating. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Interment services will be conducted privately. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2018.
