Lonnie Wayne Cole

Lonnie Wayne Cole, age 62, of the Reynolds Ridge section of Bandy, VA passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014 at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, VA. He was born in Richlands, VA and was the son of the late Clyde and Pansy Elswick Cole. Lonnie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was a graduate of Richlands High School class of 1971 and worked as a Mining superintendent for XMV and Arcelormittal. He was a member of the Reynolds Ridge Community Church, and the Richlands Masonic Lodge #318 AF & AM. Lonnie was a lifelong resident of the area and will truly be missed. He is survived by: Love of His Life, Sandra Shaffer Two Daughters: Lonica Deskins and husband, Harold “Opie” of Bristol, VA Ashely Farmer and husband, Matthew of Raven, VA One Son: Shawn Cole and wife, Martha of Jewell Ridge, VA Two Step Sons: Tony Smith of Doran, VA Andy Smith of Johnson City, TN One Sister, Brenda Fulleman and husband, Allen of Richlands, VA One Brother, Clyde Cole and wife, Sharon of Tazewell, VA Two Grandchildren, Isaac Cole and Tyler Cole; and Future Farmer Twins on the way Special Family: Geneva Dunford, Jerry Dunford, and Lloyd Dunford Also surviving numerous nieces and nephews as well as other that he considered and loved as his own. Funeral services for Lonnie Wayne Cole will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, VA with Rev. Lonnie Perkins and Rev. Paul David Crawford officiating. Interment will follow at the Reynolds Ridge Community Church Cemetery on Reynolds Ridge near Bandy, VA. Pallbearers will be Jerry Dunford, Lloyd Dunford, W.J. Cole, Buck Cole, Bruce Cole, Marvin Street, Ronnie Mills, Joe Smeltzer and Timothy Corner. Honorary pallbearers will be Doctors: James Bergin, Jamie Kennedy, Carole Ballew, Beth Fallin, Emily Berten and M.J. Thakkar. A Masonic rites and Eastern Star service will be at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, November 5, 2014. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
