Margie Lowe Smith

Margie Brewer Lowe Smith, age 86, of Roanoke, Virginia, died peacefully on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at the Carrignton Place in Daleville, Virginia surrounded by her children. She was born in War, West Virginia on January 22, 1925 to the late Walter Saunders and Emma Lou Patton Brewer. She was a graduate of the Clinch Valley Clinic School of Nursing in Richlands, Virginia and followed a noble career as a nurse. In 1980, she retired from the Clinch Valley Clinic Hospital in Richlands, Virginia and moved to Roanoke where she took employment with Roanoke Community Hospital. She retired in 1990 from Roanoke Community to spend time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin M. Smith; her children’s father, Everett W. Lowe, Sr.; her beloved son, David Alan Lowe; sisters, Mary Winnie Brewer, Betty Jean Brewer, and Mildred B. Everheart; and brother, Emmett Willis Brewer. Shelton of Chantilly, Virginia Two Brothers: Raymond Brewer and wife, Dorothy of Newhall, WV Roy Brewer and wife, Joyce of Wilmington, NC Eight Grandchildren: Robert Lowe of Chantilly, VA; Michael Lowe of Gainesville, FL; Courtney Hash Turpin of Bridgeport, WV; David Alan Hash of Troutville, VA; Tony Hash of Virginia Beach, VA; Herbie John Scull of Moneta, VA; Vicky Kessler and husband, Eric of Vinton, VA; and Jennifer Smith of Salem, VA Six Great Grandchildren: Deija Simone Hash, Brayden Turpin, Ava Turpin, Savannah Hash, Ian Kessler, and Bayla Kessler Funeral services for Margie Brewer Lowe Smith will be conducted Sunday, March 6, 2011 at 2:00pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia. Interment will follow at Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery in Richlands, Virginia. Friends may call after 6:00pm on Saturday evening at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia.
