Marsha White Muncy

Marsha Sebrena White Muncy, age 52 of Berwind, WV died Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at her home, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born April 23, 1959 at Welch, WV and was a daughter of the late Sam F. White, Sr. and Geneva Thomas White. She was a graduate of Big Creek High School and attended Concord University. Marsha was a Specialized Foster Care Provider with the State of West Virginia having had over one hundred and fifty – eight kids come through her home and she loved each and every one of them. She was a member of the Berwind Assembly of God where she served for many years as a Sunday school teacher, choir director, and pianist. Marsha loved the outdoors, raising flowers, and 4 – wheeling. She enjoyed singing and playing the piano. She was a loving wife, mother, foster mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Rita Boardwine; one brother, Henry White. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving and devoted husband of over thirty – five years, Danny Mitchell Muncy, Sr.; one daughter whom she greatly loved, Samatha Daniett Collins and husband, John Mark Collins, II. of War Cove, WV; five sons, Danny Mitchell Muncy, II. and Benjamin Cole Muncy both of the home, Travis Ray Muncy and wife, Samantha and John Henry Muncy both of Berwind, WV, and Eugene Mitchell Muncy and wife, Keila of War, WV; one special daughter, Reba Sams of Charleston, WV; two special sons, Jacob Ray Hicks of Bishop, VA and Eric Sayers of Tazewell, VA; two sisters, Patsy Hockett and husband, Dennis of Ohio City, OH, and Phyllis Thatcher and husband, Robert of Rockford, OH; two brothers, Sam F. White, Jr. “Bootie” and wife, Nancy of North Tazewell, VA and Dale Robert White and wife, Tonnya of Costa Rica; seven grandchildren, Iszak Lewis Muncy, Avery Mitchell Muncy, Gracie Maleigha Collins, John Mark Collins, III. “Shaggy”, Felipe Caleb Muncy, Lillian Olivia Muncy, Conner Keith Muncy, baby Ean Mitchell Muncy; special longtime friends, Betty Harless of Berwind, WV and Linda Brewster of War, WV; several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends, who loved her and whom she greatly loved in return. Funeral services for Marsha Sebrena White Muncy will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2011 at the Canebrake Freewill Baptist Church in Canebrake, WV with the Rev. Darrell Long and the Rev. Melvin Muncy officiating. Burial will follow at the Hartwell Cemetery in Hartwell, WV. Pallbearers will be Danny Mitchell Muncy, II., Eugene Mitchell Muncy, John Mark Collins, II., Travis Ray Muncy, Nevin Gamble, Paul Muncy, Jacob Ray Hicks, and Robert Thatcher. Honorary pallbearer will Benjamin Cole Muncy. The family will receive friends at the Canebrake Freewill Baptist Church Friday, November 18, 2011 from 6 – 9 p.m.
