Pearl Henry Shreve, Jr. age 80 of Richlands, Virginia went to be with the our Lord, Saturday, December 31, 2011 in Bristol, Tennessee following a short illness. He was born in Richlands, Virginia and was the son of the late Pearl Henry Shreve, Sr. and Elizabeth Stinson Shreve. He was a graduate of the 1951 class of Richlands High School and went on to serve his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict.He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. Pearl later worked as a mine foreman for Shreve Coal Co, and went on to be a truck driver, contractor and Assistant Supervisor for Breaks Interstate Park. He attended the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Tazewell and was a lifetime resident of the area. He is survived by : His wife of 33 years, Linda Lambert Shreve of Richlands, VA His son, Dale Stuart Shreve and wife Jean of Richlands, VA His daughters: Donna Cole of Swords Creek, VA Denise “P-nut” Smith and husband Mike of Swords Creek, VA Brother, William “Bill” Shreve of Bristol, VA Sister, Norma Shreve Dye of Bristol, VA Six-grandsons: Kevin Shreve and wife Tina of Cedar Bluff, VA Kris Shreve and wife Jessica of Swords Creek, VA Tony, Austin and Jordan Smith of Swords Creek, VA Andy and Josh Smith both of Johnson City, TN Granddaughters: Kimberly Smith and husband Freddie of Wardell, VA Ashley Framer and husband Matt of Wardell, VA Step-grandson, Shawn Cole and wife Martha, three great-grandsons, Kaleb, Kalen and Karter Shreve; two great-granddaughters, Megan and Tori Smith; two step-great-grandsons, Issac and Tyler Cole. One Nephew, Harold Lee Dye; Godchild, Jordan White of Jewell Ridge, VA, one nephew, Harold Lee Dye, and Special Cousin, Tim Stinson. Funeral services for Pearl Shreve will be conducted at 2:00pm on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Henry Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at the Hankins Cemetery in Richlands, Virginia. Pallbearers will be Dale, Kevin and Kris Shreve, Tony, Austin and Jordan Smith, Tony Presley and Joseph Johnson. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Wimmer, Ben Barringer, Larry Lambert, Mike K. Smith, James Childress, Ken Smith and Joe Demato.
