Peggy Patrick

Mrs. Peggy Flanary Patrick, age 83, of Richlands, Virginia, passed away Monday, June 14, 2010 at her home following a lengthy illness. She was born in Richlands, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Robert Guy and Lena Sublett Flanary. She had made her home in the Richlands, Virginia area all of her life and was a retired school teacher for the Tazewell County School System and was a former business owner. She was a graduate of Richlands High School Class of 1947 and attended Madison State Teachers College in Harrisonburg, Virginia. She was a member of the Hill Creek Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death one sister, Nellie Henderson; and three brothers, Charles William Flanary, James Thomas Flanary, and R. Guy “Bud” Flanary, Jr. Survivors are: Her husband of 61 years: Raymond H. Patrick One Daughter: Terri Ringstaff and husband, Eugene of Doran, Virginia One Precious Grandson: John Patrick Ringstaff and wife, Ashley Hughes Ringstaff of Midlothian, Virginia Two Sisters: Marian Luttrell of Cedar Bluff, Virginia Elizabeth Breedlove of Richlands, Virginia One Brother: Richard Flanary of Richlands, Virginia Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, June 16, 2010 at 11:00am at Hankins Cemetery of Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Bill Fletcher and Rev. Stafford Compton officiating. Interment will follow. Pallbearers will be: Danny Bostic, Randy Smith, Roger Lowe, Buddy Altizer, J.A. Bandy, William Allen Puckett, and Earl Griffith. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Dr. James Belcher, Dr. Emile Khuri, Jim Richardson, Bob Nassif, Sam McCall, Jr., Dr. David Stanton, Sr., Dr Joe Adair, Gene Hurst, Jeff Hurst, and Staff and Employees of the Hurst-Scott Funeral Homes. There will be no visitation at the funeral home, but anyone desiring to attend the graveside service is asked to line up at the funeral home by 10:30am on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the church of your choice.
