Peggy Sayers

Mrs. Peggy Ann Earls Sayers, age 74, of the Baptist Valley section of Cedar Bluff, Virginia, joined her husband, family members and the Lord on Monday, January 16, 2006 at her home following an illness of several months. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many and was born in Finney, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Joseph W. and Sylvia A. Sutherland Earls. She had made her home in the Cliffield area all of her life and was a lifetime member of the Cliffield Christian Church where she was a very faithful and loving servant to our Lord and Jesus Christ and to the community. She was a volunteer at the Alzheimer?s Respite and also volunteered at Tazewell Community Hospital. She was a former member of the North Tazewell Lioness Club and former member of the Tazewell County Democratic Party and also worked as a volunteer at voting polls. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ancil B. Sayers; one brother, Dudley Earls; one granddaughter, Nettie Elizabeth Sayers; and one sister-in-law, Erma Earls. Survivors are: Four Daughters: Brenda Sayers of Cedar Bluff, Virginia Linda McGraw and husband, Steve of Cedar Bluff, Virginia Tina Keen and husband, Kevin of Cedar Bluff, Virginia Stephanie Jewell and husband, Calvin of Cedar Bluff, Virginia Two Sons: Ancil Sayers, Jr. and wife, Regina of Cedar Bluff, Virginia Stevie Sayers and wife, Faith of Yulee, Florida Three Sisters: Virginia Carner and husband, Bob of Cliffield, Virginia Mary White and husband, Gene of Bluefield, Virginia Nancy Colley and husband, Ray of Bluefield, Virginia Three Brothers: Kenneth Earls of Cliffield, Virginia Tommy Earls and wife, Jean of Azle, Texas Joe Earls, Jr. and wife, Faye of Roanoke, Virginia Grandchildren, Thomas McGraw and wife, Shannon; Brandon Keen, Ashley Keen, Courtney Harrison, Hannah Harrison, McKinzey Sayers, and Alisa Burbo and husband Jose; One great grandson, Hunter Wayne Hess; and two great granddaughters, Isobel and Eva Burbo also survive. Special caregiver, Hazel Hones Funeral services for Mrs. Peggy Ann Earls Sayers will be conducted Thursday, January 19, 2006 at 2:00pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia with the Rev. Mike Harrison and Rev. Brian Richardson officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be: Richie Alsbrook, Wesley Keen, Mark Stafford, Thomas McGraw, Brandon Keen, and McKinzey Sayers. Friends may call after 6:00pm Wednesday evening at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Preferred Hospice of Richlands, Virginia
