Terri Lynn Mosley

Terri Lynn Jackson Mosley, 46, of Richlands, VA, died on Friday, January 12, 2018 at her home surrounded by family. She was born on August 21, 1971 in Richlands, VA to Ronald Lee Jackson and Sandra Simmons (Jackson) Spruell. She married Michael Mosley on June 15, 1996 and he survives. Terri was preceded in death by her brothers Matthew Scott Jackson and Patrick Simmons Jackson; her cousin Pamela Michelle Lee; her grandparents, Roy and Wanda Simmons and Tom and Dot Hess; and her stepfather, Jerry Spruell. Also surviving are her son, Jackson William Mosley and daughter, Michaela Simmons Mosley, both of the home; her father, Ronald Jackson of Cedar Bluff and mother, Sandra Spruell of Roanoke; her brothers, Jonathan Jackson and fiancé, Sydney Ballard of Johnson City, TN, Ron Jackson, Jr. and wife Beth of Garner, NC ; her sister, Lisa Stilwell and husband, Clifford, of Georgia; her brother-in-laws, Jerry Mosley and wife Becky of Bluefield, Carlos Mosley and wife Rebecca of Richlands, Jim Mosley of Little Egg Harbor, NJ; sister-in-law, Stephanie Jackson of Richlands; nephew, Tyler Jackson; nieces, Traci Buero, Austin Rose, Rochelle White, Racheal Jackson, Jennifer Mosley, Chloe Jackson; and dogs, Hokie and Sadie. Terri was an English teacher at Tazewell High School. She loved her job. She loved her kids. And she loved her fellow employees. She graduated from Richlands High School in 1989 and continued to Virginia Tech studying English and Psychology and received her bachelor’s degree in each. In 2001, she received her master’s degree in English education. Terri worked in Savannah, GA, at the Chatham County Schools in 1994-1995; Upward Bound at Southwest Virginia Community College from 1996-2002; Richlands High School from 2002-2011; Graham Middle School from 2011-2014; and Tazewell High School from 2014-present. Funeral services for Terri Lynn Mosley will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at the Tazewell High School 167 Cosby Lane, Tazewell Virginia with the Rev. Marc Brooks officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, Virginia. The family will begin receiving friends at 6:00pm until 9:00 on Saturday evening at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, Virginia. They will also receive friends beginning at 1:00 pm on Sunday at the High School until time of service.
